Vietnam-Bangladesh business forum to be held today

FBCCI jointly with the Planning and Development Ministry of Vietnam and the Vietnam Embassy in Bangladesh is going to organise ‘Vietnam-Bangladesh Business Forum’ at a hotel in the capital this morning.

Vietrnam President Trần Đại Quang will attend the forum and present the keynote speech. Quang

will lead 100 Vietnam business organisations in the forum.

Leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) led by its President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin yesterday made a courtesy call on President of Vietnam Trần Đại Quang in the capital, a press statement said.  

Commerce Minster Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the forum. Nguyen Chi Dung, minister for Planning and Investment of Vietnam, and Cau Quoc Hung, vice minister for Industry and Trade of Vietnam will also be present.   

Mustafa Jabbar, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Kazi M Aminul Islam, executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), will also address on the occasion.

Bangladesh exported total amount of $66.44 million to Vietnam in 2016-17 and imported the amount of $412.20 million.

The principal export products of Bangladesh to Vietnam are agricultural products, jute and leather goods, frozen foods and pharmaceutical products  while  import items from Vietnam are mineral products, textiles and textile article, machinery and plastic articles
